Basement Toy Closet: Declutter and Organize

Basement Toy Closet

Children’s toys can become overwhelming very quickly. The key is to have storage spaces with baskets. Toys should be organized by type and the baskets labeled so your children know where to place them after they’ve been used. If your child does not yet read, you can place pictures on the outside of the baskets so they can be responsible for cleaning up too. Small pieces (i.e. legos) can be contained in clear, lidded bins and placed higher up and out of reach for younger children. Bigger toys can be placed in baskets and used to decorate the room when not in use. Shelves can be hung above storage units for decoration and/or additional placement of toys.
